HELP! Hen acting strange

So sorry that you lost her so quickly. At least she is not suffering. You can try to do a necropsy on her body along with taking pictures of her abdominal organs, to find out what was going on with her. Many of us do that, and post pictures here for opinions. It is not easy, but sometimes it helps to do those to understand why they die. With cold weather right now, the extra stress can push a sick chicken over the edge. Last Christmas, during frigid weather, I lost 4 older hens over 10 days to various reproductive disorders, cancer, and ascites.

in the laundry room last night. The top of her comb is purple and I’m not sure if it’s just a little frostbite or something else. I also wormed her last night as a precaution in case that is what is causing her to act this way and added apple cider vinegar to her water. I’m worried and don’t have access to a vet but I was hoping someone might have suggestions for me! Thanks![/QUOTE]

I found this in my reading today. A possibility for what happened. Sorry for your loss.
