It's a hen. Even from this angle, if it was a rooster you'd see the shiny, slender saddle feathers and roosters' tails are different as well. This bird is a hen.

I appreciate all the responses but today she jumped on the back of another hen like my rooster does. So I'm just a little concerned, I just brought these new chickens to my flock a couple days ago and she mounted up on one of the other chickens so I'm not too sure if she is a hen or rooster. Does anyone know the name of this breed? Thanks again.
I'm guessing to establish her status in the flock...? Are you certain of where she cane from? I ask because I'd quarantine all birds coming into my flock for at least two weeks...if not four...
Totally guessing black Australorp...but really got nothing other than a bump...
a better clearer pic would help. looks like a pullet...is she a bantam or standeard?
