This guy is about 5 weeks old. I think he is some kind of cochin, but I am unsure if he is a rooster, or in fact if he is a she. Lol. He has a bold personality, and he has been very slow to feather compared to my other chickens. What kind of chick is this little guy, and is he a hen or a rooster?

I would also say Dark Brahma pullet, as far as I know of, Cochins don't come in that pattern, and the comb doesn't appear to be single.

I also think dark brahma pullet.
They are gorgeous birds. Giant but mellow once matured.

Those are pretty birds! My chickie was from a mix of bantams, so that's all I know about him- er- her at this point. Lol. Thanks for the replies! I'll post some more pics as chickie grows up. Right now, I've given it the name Napoleon, so that may have to change.

She does not look really cochin like.... But there are some silver penciled cochins out there. Brahma are available in bantam size too.

Looking forward to watching that chick grow.

Here's a pic at 8 weeks. She has been renamed Drusilla and is a feisty little thing.
