These are my two ducks. I wanted to know if I'm supposed to clip Indian runner duck wings. If so how often. Also what do you guys do for their water. I have a little baby swimming pool for them for now until their old enough for our pond and they poop in it and get it dirty within the hour we fill it up. Any help with that or any tips for keeping these ducks. I am new to the community. I'm also a little nervous in putting them in our pond because there are giant snapping turtles in there and I don't think it's safe. Should I ever put them in there. My ducks are my babies.

    Welcome!

No, do not put them in a pond with snapping turtles. You are correct.

Have you seen the Raising Ducklings sticky? https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/750869/raising-and-caring-for-ducklings#post_10611711

I have not clipped our Runners' wings. When they are younger, they might be able to get a little air under their wings, and a few Runners can fly short distances, but few of mine even try.

They do benefit from some time in lukewarm to warmish (75 to 80F) water when they are still ducklings. They need to be constantly watched, though, as they can get tired, waterlogged, and drown.

Here are some links for drinking water ideas.
