Help! I just put a hole in a egg I thought was dead!!

Hi guys,

I just cracked an egg, that should have hatched 4 or 5 days ago. All the other hatched apart from 3. They were cold I cradled them saw no movement nothing!

so I cracked them open to see what and when what went wrong.

mans too my surprise one is alive in there.

I have put it in the incubator

any advice would it be ok?

I'd be tempted to cover the hole with a piece of tape.

Looks like it can get air, but i'm not sure. Can you see a beak? I don't see shrink wrap...but i think important to keep humidity up, and let it try to bust out. i'm a newbie to hatching..others will weigh in. Did you read the assisting Article? No oozing, visible veins or blood is a good sign it may be safe to proceed in an assist, starting from the air sac end. Good Luck!

None of the above. It's a hopeful attempt to eliminate loss of moisture and shrink wrapping of the chick.
