Help! I think my hen was egg bound, I got a cracked egg out of her but she is loosing weight and still acting weird.

She is eating, her crop feels barely full. Her comb is bright and as are her eyes. I thought she was egg bound so I researched it and have done the warm baths, after about days she had a broken egg poking out of her vent. I oiled her up and helped remove it but her bottom is still very swollen and she is still acting funny. She's eating and pooping but something is wrong. I don't know how to help her. She is loosing so much weight. It's breaking my heart.

I can't feel anything It's not a tumor is it? I am just sick.

So you found an egg inside her? When you took it out where all the pieces of shell there?

As far as I can tell I got it all. it was just smashed but still together if that makes sense. I am not positive if any pieces were missing.

Ok that’s fine , can you tell me what her diet consists of and the color of her comb?

Her comb is still a nice, bright red. She free ranges and goes into a coop in the evenings. She is also eating Purina Layer crumbles and has access to oyster shells.

Ok you’ve done well so far if you have any give her a spoonful of oats with a spoonful of water to fill her up to hopefully push out any excess egg? I used this for my hen but please research if it is ok for your hen to eat oats!
