Hi, I'm new to this so I'm not sure I did this right, I think I posted this twice [IMG] [IMG][IMG]
I have a hen (I think) named Chicka, and she kinda looks like a rooster to me. My chicken is a Barred Rock Plymouth about 5 months old right now and she just started squatting the other day. My other hen (Barred Rock Plymouth) is the same age but she looks like a definite hen, she has not squatted yet. I am very confused because I have done some research and Chicka acts like a rooster from what I have read. Please help! We will have to get rid of her if she isn't a hen.

Looks like a pullet that is close to being ready to lay eggs.

Welcome. I can't guess either without the whole chicken as I am not experienced yet. I have to look at feathering or see them side by side, but it looks like my three br pullets.

This is Georgie who is six months old and started laying last month. Who thinks when I bend down to talk to everyone that she has to get up on my shoulder. That is OK as long as she never lands on my head again like she did the first time. This was today.[IMG]
