So this has been my first time incubating little chicks. We bought 6 black tail and 6 light Sussex. By day 18 there were clearly some unviable eggs (only the light Sussex for some reason) so I took them out and was left with 9 eggs. 5 hatched day 21/22 no problem, the other two on day 23. All 7 chicks are doing well so far but I’d left the other two in the incubator just in case. It’s day 25 now and I’d lost hope but didn’t want to turn off the incubator in case so candled one of the eggs. I couldn’t actually see movement but I’m sure I physically felt the egg move twice!!! Is there any hope?

I have heard of chicks hatching on the 27th!
If you can see strong veins, leave it in there for another day or two.
If there is no pipping by the 28th, no hope sorry.

I had thought about manually assisting in case the chick was unable to get out but perhaps that’s more risky than just to leave them alone :(
