I thought the spotty chest meant male... 3rd from the top is the spottiest of them all. Am I mixed up?

Yup. Think of it like a Robing Redbreast. The male has the bright breast.

Good information to know, are there any other easy telling male/female features?

Easy with most colors. But some tuxedo, white, some golds. You have to watch for behavior or vent sex. I just wait till 6tonight weeks and sexual maturity. It becomes obvious at that point.

Number 3 is the only female all the rest are male, think it is time to get more girls! they will hound her otherwise and fight, the way to tell is indeed the chest feathers this wild type being the easiest, all other colours you will have to wait longer, males develop rusty red feathers on their breast, females will just have spotting, in all the pics apart from number 3 there is a lot of rusty red coming through.

We do have one more that is clearly spotted that I didn't post because its so clear. S we agave two male and two female. I guess we might need to separate them? W are getting 24 eggs to hatch this week.... And so we should be able to improve our ratio!!
