Help me sex this 8 month old silkie please

My Orpington rooster was crowing by 4 months old. I don’t know anything about your breed but wouldn’t a Roo be crowing by 8 months?

I was shocked when my silkie roo started trying to crow at 2 months. That's like never heard of. I'm used to it being closer to 6 months, and hens taking about 10 months to lay an egg.

That’s a long ways from Nebraska USA . I sure hope you eventually find some. They are literally the best “pet” chicken. My rooster was like a dog and greeted my husband everyday when he got home from work. Jumped up into his arms. We had to rehome him to a chicken sanctuary when our town outlawed roosters

I seriously would have considered moving. I know there was a time when I couldn't have pulled that off, but now, we're out in the country surrounded by farmers, so nobody cares what we have here. I have to smell their cow poop; they can't care about my roosters crowing in the distance, either.

My silkie cockerel started to crowed at 8 weeks as well!
