One of my pullets finally started laying a the weekend (the 1st was done outside), so i have been keeping them in the coop till after laying, i clean them out every week and always put plenty of straw/shavings in the nest box & coop, the only problem is they dont like how i do it they kick it all out the nest box and into one corner of the coop, so when she layed in the nest box yesterday it was completly broke, but this morning i sneaked in and moved some shavings back in the nest box she moved most of it & layed 1 with a few minor cracks!!
Is there anything else i can put in the nest box to stop the eggs cracking, i was thinking some foam cut to size with shavings on top??
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated....
