We bought a mother goose and two goslings two weeks ago and we have been grazing them on our half acre field.

We had our baby goose out on the field with his mother and sibling along with 9 ducks. We went out to herd them into their coops and the baby couldn't stand or walk. There are no signs of any injury or trauma to any of his legs, he's eating and drinking as normal and is behaving normally, he just can't stand up, if we stand him up he falls over and struggles to get up while screeching and kicking his legs - this led to his mother abandoning him (for the first two days she would stand by him and only go off for food or a swim)

We have since taken the baby inside and we have been giving him niacin tablets mixed into his water and brewers yeast mixed in his food, we've been giving him this for two days now - still no improvement - no balance and struggles to get to his feet

He has been fed on chick crumb and grain (barley, wheat, corn) since we bought them

We've checked for bumblefoot - no signs of it

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, we are worried about our goose and a few farmers from near by have told us to simply put him down which we don't want to do

    Thanks [IMG]
