I'm an in experienced chick owner. It's only a few days old and it keeps trying to walk with its one feet while the other is retracted. (It doesn't really walk it just flops) Im not sure if the injury is internal and I don't have a proper vet nearby
It looks like your chick may have a slipped (Achilles) hock tendon. Have a look here: https://sites.google.com/a/larsencreek.com/chicken-orthopedics/leg-braces
You might also want to post with photos on "emergencies, diseases, injuries, cures," thread. I hope he can be treated successfully.
Glad you joined the flock just sorry its not under better circumstances. Hope you can fix the problem with him and he makes a good recovery. Good advice there from Drumstick Diva about the emergency/ injury/disease section. Wishing you the very best of luck
I have alrd put a post under the emergency thread. Hopefully someone can help. All the vets in my area only do cats and dogs
Hello there and welcome to BYC!
So sorry about your baby. Many times chicks and chickens can overcome all kinds of disabilities as long as the chick can still eat and drink. You might keep him right near the food and water so he has access to it all the time. Watch that he doesn't get trampled by the others. He may get through this, but watch that he is not suffering later on down the road as you may need to put him down. I hope he does make a full recovery.
