I had a healthy flock of 9 and brought home 7 new girls last weekend. Everything seemed to be going well until yesterday my son and I noticed Opal "purring". Today I went out and I have a whole bunch of sneezing girls!! This is our first year and would feel horrible if something happened to our girls! The BYC community has helped me so much!! Just reading everyone's comments,we've discovered my sons favorite hen is actually a rooster, we've learned how to make the best nesting boxes, and what breeds are best for beginners...I'm really hoping that your expertise can help us with this too!!

did you quarantine your newly acquired birds before integrating them with your existing flock?
do your birds have any other symptoms?
    what bedding are you using?

I did not quarantine them since they came from same place. Do chickens get "colds"? There are 3 with the sneezes, and occasionally mouth breathing. They did go to bed ealier than usual last night....
