It just started. A few if My week old ducklings are making small sneezing sounds. How do I help them?
I have 6. They were in a 3'x17" plastic bin with shelf liner. It was getting to small so I decided to move them to there bigger brooder.
As I was preparing the larger brooder I noticed the sneezing sound.
It has been going in for about 5 min.

It may just be dust from feed bothering them, any other symptoms discharge from nares, eyes runny? Are they eating good, running around like normal ducklings?

What is the temp in their brooder?should be around 85-90 if a week old, on week 2 drop the temps by 5* and 5* each week there after.

Putting vitamins and electrolytes in their water is a good idea. If no other symptoms just keep an eye on them for any downward change. Hopefully it's just dust/dander.

I am with Miss Lydia - the list that pops into my mind is: dust, mold, nares with guck in them, early respiratory symptoms, looking for treats. Let me explain that last one.

When my Runners want treats, they place the tip of their bills on the bedding. Then then expel air as if they were sneezing, at the same time pulling their heads up an inch or so. They will walk around the pen repeating this action, then looking up at me.

They don't seem to be doing it this morning.[IMG] So hopefully it was just dust. I will keep an eye on them. Thank you all for your help.
