Hi,
Just wondering if anyone can help me.
My male emu has become super aggressive & downright horrible.
Story - a few weeks ago my neighbour gave us a baby turkey which Barry (the emu) kind of adopted. On the advice from our local wildlife park, I finally managed to get the turkey away from him & bought another to keep it company.
Barry has been cranky ever since. He cornered me in his pen when I fed them (I have a female who couldn't care less lol)
I am really scared of him at the moment & want my nice emu back. He kicks & snaps at everyone. He can hear the turkeys chirping from his pen.
I'm thinking I may have to re home the turkeys but they are very cute.
Any advice on steps I should take or will he get over it???

They said that he will probably remain aggressive if the turkey stays with him & that because the turkey won't grow as big as an emu that he may never be nice & calm again protecting it. Natural instincts I guess. We usually let the emus roam our yard but when the turkey came he charged everyone & we were stuck in the house till we were game enough to lure him back to his pen.
I would love to be able to keep them together if I knew that Barry would be nice again!
