My parents want some chickens. They live in north Ga, so we have hot, humid summers and chilly, but not frigid winters, with a few inches of snow and short freezing spells. They want something that lays well, large eggs, and will take the weather. Also something that free ranges well. They are planning for an economic plunge and want to go ahead and get chickens. Not interested in anything fancy, just a dependable breed, mostly for eggs.

On the top of BYCs front page go to breeds and the link above will help you pick your breeds . here it is https://www.backyardchickens.com/breeds/breed-search.php There are alot that will do well where you live ,but it all depends on what is right for your mom and dad and what temperments and amount of eggs and so on that will play into what would be best. We can name a bunch and you'll get a lot of diff. breeds said. Best of luck to ya'll!
