My young Tom suddenly has a giant balloon size wattle. What happened? He's acting normal otherwise.
Hello from Kansas, MnRFarming, and ! Pleased you joined our flock! Wow! That doesn't look good. I'd advise that you post in the Turkey as well as the Emergencies Forums below:
Best wishes to you and your turkey - hope he gets better!
Also post on the "turkey thread," in case they would know why???? Do you have a farm vet that would see him? How long has he been swollen like that?
I had a rooster this happened too. I massaged the wattle gently for about 15 minutes after dark so he wasn't as alert. The next day it was completely gone and he was eating and drinking again! Not sure if it was coincidence or it actually helped but that's my experience. Best of luck.
Hi and welcome to BYC. I hope that between the ER and turkey experts you get the advice you need (along with the post above)
G’Day from down under MnRFarming Welcome!
Wow, I agree that that does not look good
I hope you are able to get him to a Vet or that the folks on the ER Forum were able to help.
I hope you can get some answers soon, that is strange looking for sure.
