Help - Neighbor's chicken escaped and now lives in my yard!

I think that luring her into the dog crate is a good idea and worth trying at least once. You might want to try getting up before daylight or Henny Penny's usual morning mealtime appointment and put the baited crate on your porch where Henny Penny is used to getting your handout. I would put a plate full of corn well inside the dog kennel then trail just a few pieces to outside the crate door to lure her into the big reward. You could even tie a cord or rope to the crate door to be able to shut it quickly and from a distance once she enters the crate for the prize.
