I'm a newbie. Started with three full grown chickens last fall. Two of them were attacked by a possum. One survived (The General aka General Tso). We got a few chics, and are't quite sure of the breeds and gender.

The smaller black one, no clue on breed. I meant to grab a barred rock, but they were mixed and when I got home there was no white dot on the head. Gender?

Smaller yellow is a rhode island red ... I think? gender?

The larger black one we are pretty sure is a barred rock , I think cockerel, hopefully not.

Larger black one is a barred rock, and I think a cockerel at this point. Please say it aint so.

Larger white one. Japanese? Male female?

Thanks!!!!

Small black one--too hard to tell from the photos. Need a better look at body shape and comb for a breed guess. Looks similar to some Sumatra I had.
I'd call the red one a Production Red, pullet.
Barred Rock is a cockerel.
White one looks like pullet.

Black Australorp, pullet, on left. Production Red pullet on right.

Barred Rock cockerel for sure.

White one may be a Japanese Bantam.
