I've been all over google and I'm having no luck with their current coloring. When we got them as ducklings they were both all black but the drake had a yellowish head with black stripes going past his eyes. That has now turned a tannish brown still with the black stripe. He also had purple/blue feathers under his wings. The rest of his feathers are a darker brown almost black but they are outlined at the edge with a copper brown.
Female is pretty much the same except her head is one solid color and looks green in the sunlight. She also has a white area under her neck. She has the purple blue feathers slightly but not as predominantly as the drake.
She also has an issue with her wings that concerns me. It literally looks like her feathers came in backwards lol. Both sides stick outwards and don't rest against her body.[IMG]

I can't really tell what they are. Can you post a better picture?

The one on the right is the drake. The left is the female. Her head looks black until she goes into the sunlight and then it looks green. Shes the one in the first pic with her feathers sticking out on the sides. She doesn't have the same coloring on her head like the drake.

I think they are both Rouens. Some Rouens can be darker, like mine in the picture.

Thank you!! Any ideas on why the ones wing feathers stick out instead of being against her body??

Can anyone tell me how old they think this baby is ? My son found it outside my home on our patio and we live near no water and couldn't find any others or the mother. I've read alot about ducks but could use any advice given.[IMG]

About 3 days old. In the USA it is the law you can't keep/raise wild ducks. You have the right though to hold on to it for 24 hours. I would bring it to a wildlife rehaber.
