Our 3 month old silver laced Wyandotte is running in circles and spinning frantically around the yard. She seems to be in distress. The other chickens seem to be just fine. No sign of bugs or anything else on her body. What could be going on? What should we do? Thanks so much for any advice!

My son got her to calm down by having her sit on his lap. Here is a picture of her.[IMG]

Spinning in circles? Does she appear to have lost her coordination?

She ran in a few circles at first now just all over the place. No balance issues that I can see.

Is she eating and drinking water normally?

    On the MN prairie.
Sometimes they do that. Kind of like when a cat puffs up and runs maniacally around the house. If she's eating fine, drinking fine, and not appearing to have any balance problems, I wouldn't worry about it.

My pullets are 18 weeks and under...I have 11 of them...Sometimes its only one ripping around, flapping wings, chasing, and flying, or its all 11 and it looks like they have all lost their minds...They are playing and stretching their wings..They feel good and seem to blow off energy..Did this happen soon after letting them out of the run..? Or just suddenly she took off? Mine do it as soon as I let them out..

I think your Chicken will be just fine..Unless she is acting ill, its normal.

    Cheers
