Hi all, need some advice please....
Two of my runners are sitting on around 20 eggs, the first eggs are at about day 26 and tonight I found one that had been thrown out of the nest and smashed open with nearly formed duckling inside. The same happened last year and out of a dozen eggs we got zero. I don't want them to have wasted a month sitting, is this happening because the eggs have failed or is it because runners aren't typically maternal or good broodies and they are killing them for some reason?

Is it possible to bring the eggs inside to 'finish them off' by any any chance?!

Thanks.

Thom.

You can bring them in if you have an incubator. Don't have any experience with runners, but it was likely kicked out by accident. The mamas were probably arguing and shuffling the eggs around.
