I was told they are Rhode Island Reds/White Leg horns mix, two are 21 wks one is 19 wks, my what looks like a hen has a nice rounded bum no saddle feathers and no fancy feathers coming off tail.

The one in the middle is 19 weeks old

another shot this is the 21 week old round bum with next to a 19 wk old with a feathery bum

    two feathery bums

    Entire pic of round bum

*was just outside looking at the three and the two pictured above are getting longer saddle feathers... does this breed male and female get them. my neighbor keeps tellnig me they are all hens but my one that I think is a hen has NO SADDLE FEATHERS and her bum is completely round.* advice soooo welcomed:)

To me they both look like pullets. [IMG]

I do not see any pointy saddle feathers. [IMG]

The last one is a pullet, but the first 3 shots are roos, sorry.

They are very pretty, what I wouldn't do to be able to keep a rooster. [IMG]

At 21 weeks I'd say they're pullets. RIR roos at that age would have much larger combs and saddle feathers.

Quote:Why do you think they are roos? At 21 weeks, wouldn't their combs and waddles be much bigger and redder? And they do seem to have saddle feathers, but they look quite round...?

The hackle feathers and the sickle tail feathers.

I might be wrong, I can really nail them in person even as chicks, lol

ETA: I didn't see the age, I am wrong....... [IMG] oops sorry
