Help please!

My hen has a very distended belly and I think she has peritonitis and I am treating her with baytril. But she now has a lesion on her belly from her spur cutting into her so I trimmed it and its bleeding quite a lot. I have tried stopping the blood with flour and cornflour but its still bleeding. I feel embarrased and cruel and stupid. any advice please?

I would apply pressure until it stops. Hopefully it will stop soon. I would not
be overly concerned. Keeping chickens is all trial and error, sometimes mostly error!

Thanks for your reply, it did stop bleeding eventually with the help of a bandage. Also any advice to treatment for her peritonitis?
