I've only had chicken for about two months so I'm not sure what's normal or not. We have a polish hen who I thought was going through molting and growing out a comb but it looks more like a scab today and some of her head feathers look broken. I tried to clean it up, it's not bleeding and she is acting otherwise normal.
Attached is a picture . Excuse her dirty face, she got caught in the rain [IMG] I have more pictures if necessary but this one appears the most clear

It looks possibly like she may have injured her beak on fencing or a sharp feeder.
