Hi! We're new to the forum,. and kinda new to chickens as well. We've had to give away about 6 roosters this year because we didn't actually know they were roosters until they all started crowing. We did however keep one rooster, and named him Michael! So, we have a few newer birds in the coop, and we're not sure on the sex of a couple of them,. or the breed, if they are mixes or not.
#1: This we know is a cockerel , approxiamatly 13 weeks old
#2 This we know (hope) is a pullet, also 13 weeks old
#3: Bird in question.. comb and wattle are bigger than #2 but we havnt notices any long hackles, and the tail feathers don't stand as tall as #1's , 13 weeks
#4: Next bird in question., a barred rock (probably not pure bred though), dark like a pullet but long hackles and large comb?
#5: This bird is why we are still confused on how to sex them, we thought for sure she was a rooster because of the large comb she grew at a young age,. but she lays eggs, so she's a she. We think. (lol) *edit* This is a full grown hen, she lays, just using her comb as an example as to why it gets hard to tell whats what haha Sorry for the confusion
