Hi. I'm new here and to chickens. I hatched my first batch a few weeks ago. I have 2 Araucana chicks that are 4 weeks old I'm trying to determine the sex of. They are out of a breeder in Georgia. I also have a lavender orpington from Arkansas who is 3 weeks old. I hopt the photos are clear enough, they aarent the easiest lil subjects to catch. lol. I live in a neighborhood so I cant keep any roos. My 9 yr old will be so sad to part with any... Me too

Chick #1 Black rump less untufted. Slower feathering and some feathers look pointed. Has not crowed but moves his/her neck and opens beak like crowing without sound:

Chick # 2 white tufted with a few tail feathers. Biggest chick but face looks softer than the black and feathered faster than the black
