This is Ken and I'm really hoping she's a she. I'm new to being a chicken mum and have hatched her myself. She has a strong attachment to me and is by far my favourite (I know bad mum playing favourites) so I'm really really hoping she's a she. She's 4 1/2 months old. Would love your opinions please and thank you.

Thank you so much. A big relief. I was pretty confident but in the last couple of weeks her comb and wattle got a lot redder and bigger than her sisters. They are mixed breeds though so wasn't sure.

Sure is a pullet and reddening of comb and wattle suggests that you should be getting eggs in the near future (submissive squatting when you approach her is also a sign of impending laying).

Yep, pretty pullet. She should be giving you eggs pretty much any day now.
