Anyone know what could be wrong with this baby? She/he can move the leg just won't use it.
It may be a slipped tendon or a riboflavin deficiency. I would start some chick vitamins in the water, or use PolyVisol without Iron 2-3 drops daily by mouth. Here are a couple of articles to help you determine the problem:
Oh I pray it's just a riboflavin deficiency. I got some polyvisol just a little bit ago and tried to get a few drops in her. I have some sav-a-chick in the broader with her. Should I try to mamipulate the leg? It will not straighten at all.
Just be very gentle with it, so it doesn't hurt the chick. Straighten it gradually, and bend it gently, unless it seems painful.
