Help! Swollen Foot/leg

I am a teacher and decided to hatch chicks in the classroom with my students. We finally had two chicks hatch last night; however, one of the chick's feet/leg is very swollen and red. The chick is unable to walk on it and it looks like it hurts. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do? I am going to try to post pictures so you can get a better idea of what is going on.

and thank you for taking the time to teach our little ones! I wish I could help you on this one but I have never seen anything quite like this one. I'm sure someone here has though. You might try posting under the Emergencies/ diseases section even though it is a baby chick, I think you will get more hits there. Many people check that section just to help if they can... Good luck!
