Hello, so I need some questions answered please. My sister is getting these gigantic eggs almost every other day and they are double yolk every time. She has chickens and ducks so she was originally thinking they were duck eggs but the yolk color just isn't proving to be duck according to internet. Opinions? I might add it's not being laid in any of the 20 nesting boxes instead a nest is being made in a different location every time??? And if this is coming from a chicken is there risk involved with it laying such a large egg?

Does she have any young layers in the flock? Sometimes young layers who are still figuring out their reproductive systems will lay the odd oversized double yolk egg. Older hens too, but not as frequently.
