I'm new to chickens, and this beauty was given to me. I would like to know more about it. I provided a picture of when it was a chick, circa Dec 8, 2013 and two taken today. Please help. Thank you.

Don't know where the original pictures went but here they are again.
Apparently, I'm new to the forum too.

Looks like a Plymouth Barred Rock to me, also looks like a roo to me, but I'm no expert! I think the larger head spot on the chick pic means rooster, they are a breed that can be sexed as chicks.

I agree -- for sure a Plymouth Barred Rock, probably a rooster with that comb development but not 100% sure about the gender.

Barred rock and definitely a rooster.

Thank you all very much. I was hoping for a hen, but most definitely a beautiful bird. It's become my pal around the yard.
