I took him to the vet and they performed surgery. He’s doing a lot better now!

Glad to hear - out of curiosity, was there any bone/ligament damage? With a crush injury, I would assume so.

He had torn skin, swelling, and bruised muscles. There wasn’t any broken bones.

That's one lucky goose that he wasn't more badly injured. You're lucky you have a vet who would fix him up.

Yes, he prescribed antibiotics and meds. The goose is back with the other geese and he was so excited to get back in the water!
