My daughter found 4 hatchling ducks today. The mother was killed. I can't take them to our wildlife center or anywhere else until Monday. They are very young. They still have a bit of their eggtooth. But they were fallowing their mother so they're not brand new. I have them in a cat career on an old towel with a shallow dish of water. I'm just not sure what to feed them, if anything, until Monday and I don't know if they can drink on their own? They messed around in the water but I didn't see them actually drink. I would appreciate any help! Thanks in advance!

Take each duckling and dip their headsin the bowl of water so they know thats their for drinking. Also go to your local pet feed shop and ask for ducklings food

Thanks so much for your quick response! I'll dip their heads. Hope I don't drown them! LOL! So they will be ok without food for tonight?

Also, make sure you put up a heat lamp or something similar so that they can stay warm, too. Set it up so that they can get away from it if they are too warm. And, make sure it's set up in a safe manner to avoid fires. Heating is just as important as food. I think they have to have it about 85 or 90 degrees at that age, but others on here would know for sure.
