help with hens not being broody!

Some of my rir aren't broody so I put the rir egg under a bantam hen! Good idea? Bad idea? Will she hatch the egg out no problem? She's sat on it for 2 days now:yiipchick

The hen doesn't care who laid the egg so as long as she stays broody, and the egg is fertile, in a little under 3 weeks you will probably have a chick!

Sounds great to me. I had a friend who hatched 3 Black Copper Maran eggs under a Bantam Cochin hen. Whatever works right.
