Hey everyone, I need some help with my first incubator

My quail is laying eggs so in a week i will be incubating those first but a couple duck eggs later on.

So far i have a cooler with a glass window, Light housing, PC fan on low, 2 thermometers and 2 humidity meters coming tonight

Do you think the holes i drilled will be enough ventilation?

I have a brick in it for heat mass and iam probably getting a reptile heat bulb tonight too.

Iam going to p 20190117_142527.jpg 20190117_145530.jpg 20190117_145518.jpg 20190117_145547.jpg 20190117_145532.jpg 20190117_145604.jpg 20190117_145556.jpg ut a sponge in the bottom with a few MMs of water in the bottom and hope for 40% humidity

Looks like you have enough ventilation. Check for hot and cold spots, i had to find a way to block the direct light from reaching the eggs with tin foil to keep the light from being too hot on closer eggs.

Should the eggs be upright or on their sides?

Thats up to you. Upright means rounded end up.

I think most people who dont have an auto turner just lay them on their sides and turn them by rolling them. That's what i would do with mine.
