Yesterday morning I went to the coop to let my chicks out and found my favorite chick Hawk dead right inside the coop door. A few days ago I noticed she looked puffed up and round and she was staying separate from the other chicks and was moving a bit slow. She was eating and drinking normally. After reading up a bit I wondered if she might have had coccidiosis so I checked the coop and did find one or two poops that had blood in them. However everything I have read about coccidiosis said they would stop or slow down eating and drinking. The other 8 chicks ranging in age from 7 wks to 3 months seem normal so far but I'm worried that whatever cause hawks death might affect the others. I went to the feed store and they didn't have any corid and said it was on back order from their supplier but they hoped it would be in monday. Is there anything else I can treat them with other than corid if I can't get it? I don't know what to do and I can't bear to lose anymore. Please help!
