Help with Silkie coloring...

what color it is considered. Any ideas?

I saw your post on the DFW group, and I meant to reply... It looks like a blue partridge as someone has already said.

Post a message on the ASBC forum and ask Suze for assistance. Shes WONDERFUL with color genetics.

Thanks everyone. This little one actually came from
Kentucky Silkies eggs. I think at that time it was a
mixed color flock.

It's a grey with red (autosomal red?--Henk, if you're reading what do you think?) From the photos I can't tell if the black is replaced with blue or if the photos simply have a bluish tone overall.

Blue partridge is partridge with the black diluted to blue, but the gold and red remain. Blue partridge hackles should be blue, laced with red, not pure silver. The head should be red.

I'll try to find or take a photo of a blue partridge this afternoon.

I'll see if I can't get some better pictures too. The lighting
is kinda dark in their pen. But if I tried to use the flash, it
was giving everything a yellowish overtone.
