My one black chick died over the night and 2 are gone now and I don't know if they are dead or alive. It's so weird because they are not that big and only 10 days old. I keep my chicks in my house until they are old enough to go outside. Any idea of what happened or where they could be?

Was there any signs of what caused the chick to die?

Were they in an enclosed brooder?

Do you have other animals in the house that could have gotten them?

Before that night, did they look like they couldn't stand up? I have had many experiences with chicks where they couldn't stand up and just tried to sleep, shortly after they would die. I'm not sure what is the cause of that but it happens usually to one or two of my chicks once after a day or two I bring them home.

No but I have experienced that with previous chicks.

I don't put my chicks enclosed because they normally can't get out of the plastic box until 17 days when I put them in a bigger thicker plastic box that is enclosed. Two escaped togather.

Im so sorry :(...this is my 1st time with chicks and at 10 days old they are almost able to fly out. I no longer keep the box uncovered unless im watching them. Sounds like these were capable earlier than your last. So sorry..
