My husband found this little one on the side of the road this morning. He's pretty stunned but very friendly and it seems to have a tattoo under its wing. Anyone know what she/he is?

Not sure?? But it has the strangest looking face/head. Flat almost looking. Still very pretty feathering. Hope someone knows for you!

Leghorn, probably fell out of a transport truck headed for an egg house. She's been debeaked. Sugar water or electrolytes and some heat should perk her up.

She is so friendly. Would much rather be with us than with other chicks

I am concerned about the swelling around her breast area though :/

Try to massage it. Is she wheezing when she is breathing? Massage her crop and tip her over afterwards and see if any drainage comes out. Poor thing :( Also, make sure she has access to grit.

No wheezing but she is constantly cooing. I think she threw up all the food she ate yesterday in a solid mass and it was streaked with blood [IMG] she's alert, chatty, eating , drinking, and pooping so I guess we will just wait it out for a bit. I separated her from the other chicks until I am sure she is ok
