I have a couple hens that's bottoms have been raw, swollen, and losing feathers for about a couple weeks now. Could they be egg bound??? I'm getting worried. If anyone knows anything about this type of thing please, I need info. Thank you

No, I don't have any roosters. Just hens.

How old are they? The more info about your problem you provide on this site, the quicker you'll get a sage response. Great site with lots of knowledgeable people.

They are a year old. Raised them from chicks. I've not had any problems until now. And it's also been raining alot here and it's quit muddy in their pen.

Go in at night and look that's when the mites/lice feast.

Ok.but I don't think it's mites or lice. It's usually dark when I get home to check them...I've not seen any signs of that
