HELP!

I lost 2 chickens in one day we saw them in the morning at 11 but they disappeared and we only saw feathers. Can you please help tell me what predator will go for back to back kills it left a tuft of fur that was brown and black stripes

It was from 12 to 5 so couldn't be a coyote plus haven't seen or heard one in years

Can you provide more detail? Where the in a pen/run? Coop? Out in the yard? Lots of feathers? Globs of feathers or just odd tufts? What time did you notice they disappeared?
Where are you?
Sounds like coyotes.

Right now is coyote pup season, we have coyotes showing up daily around noon and way before dusk, I wouldn't outrule it.

Yakima, Wa, and spots here and there and free-ranging but we have dogs that watch the chickens and would go crazy if we saw a coyote.
