. help!

    I have one chick that is lying down and its right leg is peeking out. Was fine last ngiht. Just lying there. We seperated him because of trampling and he cannot stand up. Not spraddled leg. Now lying on its side! Help!

    just... died. WAAAAAH!!! this is the saddest thing in my life. (never seen a cute baby animal die before...) have no idea what to do. Eye opened slowly and is closing up. Almost closed. Help...
    3 Days old btw

    It happens sometimes. A lot of times there's nothing you can do. I've had chicks like that and splints and bandages just made it worse. Now I set them in a cup. Sometimes the leg gets dislocated right after hatch. I set them in a cup for a while and then put them into a box by themselves. Going back and forth between the two. Usually just from the tight fit and the chick constantly trying to stand, the leg is reset. It's nothing you did and it happens to everyone at some time, so don't beat yourself up.
