Do not worry. Every once in a while some of the white part of the egg is covered with a shell and the hen lays the tiny egg. My hens have produced these before.

If she is just starting to lay, she is still working the kinks out, so you'll get some odd ones now and then..:)

I've had pullet eggs from hens when they started laying again after a molt or broody cycle. I wouldn't worry about it unless the unusual eggs continue.

I had one last summer that was the size of a marble - too cute, tiny brown one! I also got an enormous 95gm chocolate brown egg from one of my new pullets (I'm pretty sure it was her, she sneaks off to a special place in the barn). I was so sure it was a double yoke that I cracked it to eat it and it had the most enormous yolk I've ever seen! REALLY wish I'd but it in the incubator [IMG]
