Hello everyone,

I am a newbie to hatching eggs. I ordered 6 Ancona eggs online; 1 arrived broken, 3 were severely scrambled, and 2 seemed ok. I decided to put the remaining 5 in the incubator to see what would happen. I let them sit, kept them pointy end down, the temps and humidity have been relatively stable (99.5-100 and 50%), and after day three they were placed in an egg turner. 3 didn't even attempt to develop, one seems to have a blood ring, the other started veining, but it just doesn't look like it should. Can someone tell me what's going on here?

I'm a newbie too but I was just reading a thread on here where they recommended that if they come in the mail after at least a 24 hour rest period or more, when you put them in the incubator they can rest on the egg turner big end up ,but not to turn the rotater on for 7 days as this helps heal the air sac if it has been damaged.
Have also heard veining seems to have a lot causes.
Sorry good luck!

Thanks for your reply! I read a lot about turning and not turning shipped eggs; I thought three days might be enough time to sit, but perhaps not...

leave it in there and check back on day 7. the pics may not be clear but as far as i can tell. it is developing

Thanks, I forgot to mention today is day seven... I guess I'll just check it again on day 10. I'm just worried that if it is bad that it might explode :(
