I have a 9 month old silkie who I thought was a hen. Buttttt then she started crowing  I have heard of hens crowing, and she looks like a silkie hen a round fluff thing but her tail isn't round ;( I'm wanting to trade rooster for a silkie hen... I have three roos and it sounds like there trying to make a song hahaha

"crowing hens" are older, mature birds who have reached a point of hormonal imbalance, etc. and are not nearly as common as you might think -- a young bird reaching maturity (such as your silkie) who begins crowing is a male bird.
