I'm hatching some pure bred and some mix bred eggs soon I'm wonder if anyone can tell me how hard it is to get rid of the mutts. I don't want them as brood stock I just had to use them to get the incubators right for some of the pure breeds I'll be doing soon. I've never shipped chicks and don't know if there is any money in keep them to 8 weeks. Advise need and wanted!

    Hi!
Sell them on craigslist. It works great. or you can just give them away on craigslist as baby chicks.
Don't bother raising them to 8 weeks. there is no financial gain in that. If you decide to raise them
a bit, put them on a meat maker/meat bird poultry feed which can be fed from hatch. The longer you keep them, the more money you will lose but this feed will make them look better when you get rid of them.
    Best,
    Karen
