I have had two chickens that look like maybe blow out under the vent.
The skin was pulled apart and a huge bulge? The one did not make it.
The 2nd one we put her in a bath and stitched the wound toghter. She
Is doing great eating drinking. I let her out of the dog creat during the day
For about 1/2 hr. I don't want her to lay eggs. Her poop looks good and she
Is happy. I would like to know when I should put her back in the coop with
My other girls. She has stitches in still so I don't want to put her in there yet.
But when she is put back she will have no feathers on her butt. Is it ok to put her in
Like that or should I wait until her feathers come back.
    Thank you.

She shouldn't go back with the flock until her wound heals. To keep her from laying, you should keep her in the dark.

    She is fine!
Spraying BlueKote on it will help (Just in case).

    Good luck!

Thank you ThePRfan. She is doing great just waiting for her feathers to grow back and I will put her back in the coop. I will look up that spray. Thanks again.
