Can you hear it pipping? Only help it out if the membrane has dried over and you can know for sure the chick can't get out/

You can normally tell after a couple days (it's possible that he can hatch out during the course of the day especially since he's only on day one) If you feel the need to you can use some water to soften it and chip out only a small portion. A dry membrane normally comes from it being in the incubator over an extra day which means the chick is a little bit more weaker.
